| 背景信息 | Reticulon 4 receptor like 2 (RTN4RL2) is a cell surface receptor that plays a role in postnatal brain development and neurite outgrowth inhibition. It is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored protein with leucine-rich repeat domains. RTN4RL2 contributes to normal axon migration across the brain midline and corpus callosum formation. It interacts with myelin-associated glycoprotein (MAG) and is involved in protecting motoneurons against apoptosis. The protein also participates in restricting dendritic spine and synapse numbers during brain development. RTN4RL2 activates Rho signaling and influences actin cytoskeleton reorganization. In terms of disease relevance, altered RTN4RL2 expression has been associated with hearing impairment, as RTN4RL2 knockout mice showed increased sound thresholds and impaired hearing. Additionally, changes in RTN4RL2 methylation have been linked to environmental exposures like bisphenol A, which may have implications for developmental disorders. |
