| 背景信息 | V-set and immunoglobulin domain containing 10 like (VSIG10L) is a membrane-bound protein containing immunoglobulin-like domains that is highly expressed in the squamous esophageal epithelium. It plays a critical role in maintaining esophageal homeostasis and promoting epithelial maturation. VSIG10L is essential for proper desmosome formation and the integrity of intercellular spaces. Clinically, germline mutations in VSIG10L, such as the S631G variant, are strongly associated with susceptibility to familial Barrett esophagus and esophageal adenocarcinoma. These mutations impair squamous cell maturation and increase vulnerability to reflux-induced injury. Consequently, the loss of VSIG10L expression is a recognized hallmark of progression from metaplasia to esophageal malignancy. |
