| 背景信息 | THO complex subunit 6 (THOC6) is a key component of the multi-protein THO complex, which integrates with the TREX assembly to couple mRNA transcription and processing with nuclear export. THOC6 plays a structural role in the oligomerization of the THO-DDX39B complex, facilitating the transport of spliced mRNAs to the cytoplasm via the TAP/NXF1 pathway. It also participates in the negative regulation of apoptosis during brain development. Clinically, mutations in THOC6 are the established cause of Beaulieu-Boycott-Innes syndrome, a neurodevelopmental disorder. Additionally, the TREX complex containing THOC6 is required for the export of intronless viral mRNAs, making it essential for the production of infectious Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus. |
