| 背景信息 | Spermatogenesis associated serine rich 2 (SPATS2) is a serine-rich protein characterized by a basic amino acid-rich region and intrinsic RNA binding activity. It is primarily localized in the cytosol and exhibits high expression levels in the testis, specifically within spermatocytes and round spermatids, reflecting its fundamental role in spermatogenesis. SPATS2 also shows lower expression in the brain and heart. Clinically, SPATS2 is implicated in oncogenesis; it promotes the progression of hepatocellular carcinoma by regulating the cell cycle and is negatively modulated by miR-145-5p. Additionally, it has been linked to progesterone-receptor negative breast cancer, suggesting its utility as a potential marker or therapeutic target in specific malignancies. |
