| 背景信息 | Collagen type XXIII alpha 1 chain (COL23A1) is a type II transmembrane non-fibrillar collagen belonging to the transmembrane collagen subfamily. It features a single-pass membrane domain and an extracellular collagenous domain that can be shed as a soluble homotrimer. Expressed in skin and various epithelial tissues, COL23A1 mediates cell-matrix interactions and integrin signaling pathways. While specific Mendelian disorders are not definitively established, altered expression of COL23A1 is observed in certain malignancies, including paraurethral gland cancer, suggesting a role in tumor biology through mechanisms involving cell adhesion and extracellular matrix remodeling. |
