| 背景信息 | Actin filament associated protein 1 (AFAP1) is a scaffolding adaptor protein that plays a central role in modulating the actin cytoskeleton. It functions by binding to Src family kinases and protein kinase C (PKC), linking these signaling molecules to actin filaments to regulate cytoskeletal integrity and dynamics. AFAP1 facilitates the cross-linking of filaments into networks and bundles, promoting the formation of lamellipodia and enhancing cell migration. It is also involved in cytokinesis and interferon-gamma signaling pathways. In clinical contexts, AFAP1 is frequently overexpressed in prostate adenocarcinoma and breast cancer, where it contributes to increased cell-matrix adhesion and metastatic potential, making it a significant marker for cancer progression. |
