| 背景信息 | Neuroguidin (NGDN) is a nucleolar protein belonging to the UTP3/SAS10 family that plays a dual role in ribosomal biogenesis and translational regulation. It integrates into the small subunit (SSU) processome, where it facilitates early 40S ribosomal biogenesis by promoting pre-rRNA processing, folding, and cleavage. NGDN forms the salt-stable ANN complex with AATF and NOL10, a structural assembly essential for ribosome maturation. In the cytoplasm, NGDN functions as an EIF4E-binding protein that interacts with CPEB to inhibit the translation of specific mRNAs during neuronal development. This regulatory mechanism is crucial for controlling the spatiotemporal expression of proteins required for neural circuit formation, balancing ribosomal production with translational repression. |
