| 背景信息 | Charged multivesicular body protein 7 (CHMP7) is an ESCRT-III-like protein that plays a dual role in nuclear envelope integrity and endosomal trafficking. During late anaphase, CHMP7 recruits the ESCRT-III machinery to the reforming nuclear envelope to facilitate membrane sealing and mitotic spindle disassembly, working in coordination with LEMD2 and SPAST. It also participates in the multivesicular body pathway, ensuring proper protein sorting and lysosomal degradation. Clinically, pathogenic variants in CHMP7 are associated with neurodegenerative disorders, including frontotemporal dementia, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis type 7, and spinal muscular atrophy. Furthermore, its dysregulation is implicated in various cancers, where its expression levels often correlate with disease progression and patient outcomes. |
