| 背景信息 | Tripartite motif containing 41 (TRIM41) is a cytosolic RING-type E3 ubiquitin ligase that plays a pivotal role in innate antiviral immunity and germline development. It utilizes its C-terminal PRY/SPRY domain to recognize substrates, such as the nucleoproteins of influenza A and vesicular stomatitis virus, targeting them for ubiquitination and subsequent degradation to restrict viral infection. TRIM41 also modulates host signaling by ubiquitinating BCL10, thereby enhancing NF-kappaB and IRF3 activation. Beyond its immunological functions, TRIM41 is essential for male meiosis. It regulates the loading of SYCP3 onto chromosome axes and is required for proper XY body formation during spermatogenesis. Clinically, mutations or deletions of TRIM41 are linked to male infertility, as its absence leads to meiotic arrest and defective sperm production, while female fertility remains unaffected. |
