| 背景信息 | Rap guanine nucleotide exchange factor 5 (RAPGEF5) is a cytoplasmic guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) that activates small GTPases, including RAP1A, RAP2A, and MRAS. By promoting the exchange of GDP for GTP, it sustains the active state of these proteins within Ras-family signaling pathways. RAPGEF5 serves as a critical link between cell surface receptors and the activation of Ras/Rap, participating in downstream processes such as angiotensin-induced ERK activation and G-protein-regulated p38/JNK signaling. Through these pathways, it influences diverse cellular functions, including proliferation and differentiation. RAPGEF5 is widely expressed across human tissues, with particularly high levels observed in the brain and endocrine organs, such as the parathyroid gland, reflecting its broad role in signal transduction and cellular regulation. |
