| 背景信息 | Trans-L-3-hydroxyproline dehydratase (L3HYPDH) is an enzyme within the proline racemase superfamily that catalyzes the first step in the metabolism of trans-3-hydroxy-L-proline. This post-translationally modified amino acid is a significant component of collagen-IV and other structural proteins. L3HYPDH facilitates the dehydration of its substrate to form delta-1-pyrroline-2-carboxylate, utilizing a conserved Cys-Thr active site motif. The enzyme exhibits structural flexibility, transitioning between open and closed conformations upon substrate binding to ensure catalytic efficiency. While L3HYPDH plays a vital role in the degradation of dietary and endogenous collagen, no direct disease associations have been documented in clinical databases. |
