| 背景信息 | Proheparin-binding EGF-like growth factor (HBEGF) is a member of the epidermal growth factor (EGF) family, synthesized as a membrane-anchored glycoprotein that plays critical roles in cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and wound healing. HBEGF can be cleaved to release a soluble form that exhibits mitogenic and chemotactic properties, particularly for smooth muscle cells and fibroblasts. Its expression is highly regulated and occurs in response to various stimuli, including inflammation and tissue injury. Dysregulation of HBEGF has been implicated in several diseases: Elevated levels of HBEGF have been found in various malignancies, including breast, lung, and colorectal cancers. Additionally, HBEGF is involved in cardiovascular diseases, particularly in cardiac hypertrophy and atherosclerosis, where it mediates vascular remodeling. |
