| 背景信息 | SR-related CTD associated factor 11 (SCAF11) is a nuclear RNA-binding protein that plays a central role in spliceosomal complex assembly and the regulation of pre-mRNA alternative splicing. It functions by interacting with the C-terminal domain of RNA polymerase II and various SR splicing factors, facilitating co-transcriptional RNA processing. SCAF11 is localized primarily to the nucleolus and nuclear bodies and is characterized by intrinsically disordered regions that support its role as a soluble nuclear scaffold. Beyond splicing, it has been implicated in the regulation of cell death and inflammation through interactions with caspase-8 and inflammasome components. While altered expression is noted in several cancers, SCAF11 is not currently linked to any well-established Mendelian diseases. |
