| 背景信息 | Retinoic acid receptor responder 2 (RARRES2), also known as chemerin, is a 14 kDa adipokine encoded by the RARRES2 gene in humans. It is secreted as prochemerin and activated through C-terminal cleavage by proteases. RARRES2 functions as a ligand for G protein-coupled receptors CMKLR1 and GPR1, regulating adipogenesis, metabolism, and inflammation. It is highly expressed in white adipose tissue, liver, and lungs. RARRES2 plays roles in adipocyte differentiation, glucose uptake, and lipolysis, classifying it as an adipokine. It exhibits both pro- and anti-inflammatory properties depending on enzymatic cleavage. RARRES2 is involved in chemotaxis of immune cells and has antimicrobial functions in the skin. Elevated RARRES2 levels are associated with obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. |
