| 背景信息 | Serine protease 27 (PRSS27), also known as pancreasin, is a secreted tryptic serine protease belonging to the group-1 subfamily of serine proteases and is primarily expressed in the pancreas. The protein is encoded by the PRSS27 gene located within a large protease gene cluster on chromosome 16 and undergoes alternative splicing, resulting in multiple transcript variants. Structurally, PRSS27 is a glycosylated protein with a molecular weight of approximately 30.9 kDa, featuring a signal peptide, propeptide, and mature chain, and contains disulfide bonds critical for its stability and function. Functionally, it is involved in proteolytic processes, and its enzymatic activity is dependent on a conserved serine residue in the active site. Clinically, altered expression of PRSS27 has been identified as a prognostic marker in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, particularly in patients treated with preoperative chemotherapy. |
