| 背景信息 | Calsyntenin 3 (CLSTN3) is a type I transmembrane postsynaptic adhesion protein of the cadherin superfamily, primarily enriched in the brain. It localizes to dendrites and the postsynaptic membrane, where it acts as a cell adhesion molecule by binding to presynaptic neurexin-alpha and neurexin-beta. This interaction is essential for organizing both excitatory and inhibitory synapse formation and promoting overall synapse development. CLSTN3 further regulates the excitatory/inhibitory balance, particularly in Purkinje neurons, and participates in ascorbate uptake through its interaction with SLC23A2. Additionally, it forms complexes with amyloid precursor protein (APP) and APBA2, thereby influencing APP processing and contributing to the maintenance of synaptic integrity. |
