| 背景信息 | Chromosome 1 open reading frame 35 (C1orf35), also known as MMTA2, is an RNA-binding protein that localizes to both the nucleus and cytoplasm, as well as secretory granules. It functions as an oncogene by activating the transcription of c-MYC, thereby promoting the G1-to-S cell cycle transition and driving cellular tumorigenesis. C1orf35 is expressed across most human tissues and has been implicated in the progression of multiple myeloma, gastric cancer, and liver cancer. In these contexts, its upregulation and hypomethylation are frequently linked to poor clinical prognosis. While it is also involved in innate immune pathways, its primary clinical significance is currently centered on its role in oncogenic transformation and cancer cell proliferation. |
