| 背景信息 | Bcl-2-like protein 13 (BCL2L13), also known as Bcl-rambo, is a member of the Bcl-2 protein family, primarily localized to the mitochondria. It consists of four conserved Bcl-2 homology domains and a single transmembrane domain, which facilitates its mitochondrial localization. Unlike other Bcl-2 family members, BCL2L13 can induce apoptosis independently of its BH domains, suggesting a unique mechanism of action. It interacts with components of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore, promoting the release of pro-apoptotic factors. Dysregulation of BCL2L13 has been linked to various cancers, including childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). In GBM, BCL2L13 has been shown to inhibit apoptosis by interacting with ceramide synthases, thus blocking their pro-apoptotic activity. |
