| 背景信息 | UL16 binding protein 2 (ULBP2) is a stress-induced cell surface glycoprotein and a member of the MHC class I-related family. Lacking a transmembrane domain, it is tethered to the plasma membrane via a GPI anchor and functions as a high-affinity ligand for the NKG2D receptor found on natural killer (NK) cells and cytotoxic T cells. Engagement of ULBP2 triggers the release of cytokines and activates cytotoxic mechanisms against stressed, infected, or malignant cells. Many tumors evade this immune surveillance by shedding ULBP2 as a soluble form. Clinically, elevated levels of soluble ULBP2 are established prognostic biomarkers in several malignancies, including pancreatic and gastric cancers, where they correlate with immune escape and poor patient outcomes. |
