| 背景信息 | SHC binding and spindle associated 1 like (SHCBP1L) is a testis-enriched cytoplasmic protein that functions as a critical spindle-associated factor during meiosis. Predominantly expressed in pachytene spermatocytes and round spermatids, it localizes to meiotic spindles and works in conjunction with HSPA2 to maintain spindle integrity and ensure proper chromosome alignment during meiosis I. This activity is essential for supporting normal spermatogenesis and male germ cell development. Loss-of-function studies indicate that SHCBP1L deficiency leads to spindle instability, misaligned chromosomes, and the apoptosis of spermatocytes. Clinically, these defects result in severely impaired spermatogenesis and male infertility, while female fertility remains unaffected. SHCBP1L thus serves as a specialized regulator of the meiotic machinery necessary for male reproductive health. |
