| 背景信息 | Platelet-derived growth factor D (PDGFD) is a member of the platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) family, which consists of mitogenic factors that primarily stimulate cells of mesenchymal origin. PDGFD is characterized by its ability to form homodimers and is distinguished by an unusual N-terminal CUB domain, which is not present in other PDGF family members. This protein plays a critical role in various physiological processes, including cell proliferation, migration, and angiogenesis. Dysregulation of PDGFD has been implicated in several diseases, particularly in cancer and fibrosis. For example, elevated levels of PDGFD have been associated with tumor progression and metastasis in various cancers, including breast and prostate cancer, where it promotes angiogenesis and the proliferation of cancer-associated fibroblasts. Additionally, PDGFD has been linked to fibrotic diseases, as it can stimulate excessive extracellular matrix production. |
