| 背景信息 | C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 16 (CXCL16) is a unique transmembrane protein that functions as both a cell-surface scavenger receptor and a soluble chemoattractant. In its membrane-bound form, CXCL16 is expressed on macrophages and dendritic cells, where it binds and internalizes oxidized low-density lipoprotein (OxLDL) and various bacteria. Proteolytic shedding by the metalloproteinase ADAM10 releases a soluble form that acts as a ligand for the CXCR6 receptor, inducing the migration and adhesion of T cells, NKT cells, and activated CD4+ and CD8+ T cells. Its expression is strongly upregulated by pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IFN-gamma and TNF-alpha. Clinically, CXCL16 serves as a biomarker for COVID-19 and is associated with inflammatory and metabolic conditions including systemic scleroderma, type 1 diabetes mellitus, and atherogenesis. |
