| 背景信息 | Inner centromere protein (INCENP) is a critical scaffolding component of the chromosomal passenger complex (CPC), essential for the regulation of mitosis and cytokinesis. It mediates the assembly of the CPC by facilitating interactions between Survivin and Borealin, forming a structural bundle that targets the complex to centromeres and the spindle. The C-terminal IN-BOX domain of INCENP is responsible for binding and activating Aurora B and Aurora C kinases, creating a positive-feedback loop through phosphorylation that enhances kinase activity. During the cell cycle, INCENP dynamically relocates from chromosomes to the midbody to ensure proper chromosome segregation and asymmetric cell division. It is indispensable for correct kinetochore-microtubule attachments and histone H3 phosphorylation. |
