| 背景信息 | Kinesin family member 13B (KIF13B) is a microtubule-based motor protein belonging to the kinesin-3 family that facilitates the ATP-dependent transport of various cellular cargos. It plays a fundamental role in axonogenesis, primary cilia signaling, and membrane remodeling. KIF13B mediates the intracellular trafficking of MAGUK proteins like Dlg1 to sites of myelination in Schwann cells and the delivery of VEGFR2 to the plasma membrane in endothelial cells to support angiogenesis. Structurally, it contains a motor domain and a CAP-Gly domain essential for cargo interaction and microtubule binding. Clinically, mutations in KIF13B are associated with rare neurodevelopmental and sensory disorders, including autosomal recessive deafness 84A and Nescav syndrome, and it has been implicated in the regulation of cytokinesis in certain cancers. |
