| 背景信息 | Myosin VC (MYO5C) is a motor protein predominantly expressed in epithelial and glandular tissues, playing a crucial role in secretory processes. It belongs to the class V myosin family and shares approximately 50% sequence identity with myosin Va and Vb. MYO5C functions as a low duty ratio motor, with phosphate release as the rate-limiting step. It consists of a motor domain, an elongated neck domain with six IQ motifs, a coiled-coil dimerization region, and a globular tail domain. MYO5C associates with secretory granules and is involved in transferrin trafficking. It can adopt different conformations and interact with various light chains, including calmodulin, Myl6, and Myl12b. MYO5C has been associated with Griscelli Syndrome Type 1 and Microvillus Inclusion Disease. |
