| 背景信息 | RIC8 guanine nucleotide exchange factor B (RIC8B) is a cytosolic chaperone and guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for G-alpha subunits, particularly those of the Gs class. It binds nascent G-alpha proteins, facilitating their folding, biosynthesis, and transport to the plasma membrane, which is essential for functional GPCR signaling. RIC8B is particularly critical in olfactory sensory neurons for the localization of G-alpha-olf, thereby enabling odorant signal transduction. While direct links to specific human genetic syndromes are limited, its fundamental role in G-protein maintenance suggests that RIC8B dysfunction could underlie defects in sensory perception and neurotransmission. |
