| 背景信息 | Brain expressed X-linked 4 (BEX4) is a cytoplasmic protein and member of the BEX family primarily enriched in neural tissues. It plays a critical role in regulating microtubule deacetylation by inhibiting the deacetylase activity of SIRT2 toward α-tubulin, thereby influencing cell-cycle progression and maintaining genomic stability. Additionally, BEX4 acts as a zinc-dependent pseudosubstrate for the CRL2(FEM1B) E3 ligase complex, modulating substrate recognition and redox-sensitive signaling pathways. In clinical contexts, BEX4 is differentially expressed in glioblastoma, where its levels correlate with overall survival and contribute to radioresistance through the activation of the YAP/TAZ signaling pathway. |
