| 背景信息 | Interleukin 36 gamma (IL36G) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine within the IL-1 family that plays a vital role in epithelial barrier defense and innate immunity. It signals through a receptor complex consisting of IL1RL2 (IL-36R) and the coreceptor IL1RAP, subsequently activating the NF-κB and MAPK pathways to drive the production of chemokines such as CXCL8 and CCL20. Primarily expressed in the skin, lungs, and gut epithelia, IL36G is synthesized as an inactive precursor that requires N-terminal proteolytic cleavage by enzymes like neutrophil elastase or cathepsin S for activation. This cytokine is a well-established biomarker and driver of psoriasis, where its elevated expression in skin lesions promotes Th17 responses and neutrophil infiltration. It is also implicated in acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis and other inflammatory skin pathologies. |
