| 背景信息 | Ring finger protein 14 (RNF14) is an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase characterized by a RING zinc finger domain that facilitates protein-protein interactions and the ubiquitination of nuclear targets. It plays a significant role in the RNF14-RNF25 quality control pathway by targeting translation factors and ribosomal proteins on stalled ribosomes. Beyond its role in protein degradation, RNF14 acts as a coactivator for the androgen receptor, inducing target gene expression in prostate cells. It also modulates Wnt signaling through interactions with TCF transcription factors, influencing cellular survival. Additionally, the protein is involved in resolving RNA-protein cross-links and modulating mitochondrial gene expression. Clinically, RNF14 is implicated in the progression of prostate and colon cancers, where it regulates tumor cell growth and survival. |
