| 背景信息 | LIM domain and actin binding 1 (LIMA1), also known as EPLIN or SREBP3, is a cytoskeleton-associated protein that plays a crucial role in regulating actin filament dynamics. It contains a central LIM domain and multiple actin-binding domains at its ends, enabling it to cross-link and stabilize actin filaments, increase the number and size of actin stress fibers, and inhibit actin filament depolymerization and membrane ruffling. LIMA1 exists in two isoforms, LIMA1-α and LIMA1-β, and can dimerize or interact with other proteins via its LIM domain. By stabilizing the actin network and inhibiting Arp2/3-mediated actin nucleation, LIMA1 is essential for maintaining cytoskeletal integrity and cadherin-mediated cell adhesion. Loss or deficiency of LIMA1 disrupts cytoskeletal dynamics, cell motility, and cell-cell adhesion, which can enhance tumor cell proliferation, invasion, and migration. |
