| 背景信息 | Septin 9 (SEPTIN9) is a filament-forming cytoskeletal GTPase that serves as a core component of the mammalian septin hetero-octamer. It plays an essential role in cytokinesis by coordinating myosin motor proteins and stabilizing the contractile ring, ensuring the successful separation of daughter cells. Beyond cell division, SEPTIN9 regulates actin cytoskeleton organization, vesicle trafficking, and chromosome alignment. The protein contains a conserved GTP-binding domain and variable terminal extensions that facilitate the formation of complex hetero-oligomeric filaments. Clinically, dysregulation of SEPTIN9 is a well-established biomarker for colorectal cancer, where it can act as either an oncogene or a tumor suppressor depending on the cellular context, and its abnormal expression is implicated in various other malignant tumors. |
