| 背景信息 | Dickkopf like acrosomal protein 1 (DKKL1) is a secreted, cysteine-rich glycoprotein belonging to the Dickkopf family, primarily expressed in the testis. It localizes to the acrosome of developing spermatids and mature sperm, where it plays an essential role in acrosome formation and fertilization. Functional studies indicate that DKKL1 facilitates sperm penetration of the zona pellucida and may regulate spermatocyte apoptosis to control sperm output. Additionally, it has been suggested to modulate testosterone synthesis in Leydig cells. Given its specialized expression and function in the male reproductive system, DKKL1 is a key factor in testicular development and spermatogenesis. Clinically, alterations in DKKL1 function or expression are proposed as potential contributors to male infertility, highlighting its importance in reproductive health. |
