| 背景信息 | Ring finger protein 6 (RNF6) is an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase containing a RING-H2 finger motif that facilitates the Lys-48-, Lys-6-, and Lys-27-linked polyubiquitination of specific substrates. By targeting proteins such as LIMK1, the androgen receptor, and QKI for proteasomal degradation, RNF6 regulates diverse biological processes, including axonal outgrowth, actin dynamics in neurons, and germinal differentiation. It also acts as a potential transcriptional regulator by binding DNA and participates in innate immunity and Class I MHC antigen processing. Clinically, RNF6 is implicated in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, where mutations suggest a tumor-suppressive role. Conversely, its upregulation in prostate cancer promotes tumor growth through atypical ubiquitination of the androgen receptor, highlighting its context-dependent role in oncogenesis. |
