| 背景信息 | Protocadherin beta 15 (PCDHB15) is a single-pass type I integral plasma membrane protein belonging to the protocadherin beta gene cluster. It is characterized by six extracellular cadherin domains that facilitate homophilic, calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion. PCDHB15 is primarily expressed in neural tissues, including the cerebral cortex and hippocampus, where it is thought to play a role in establishing and maintaining specific neuronal connections within the brain.
