| 背景信息 | Heparan sulfate-glucosamine 3-sulfotransferase 3B1 (HS3ST3B1) is a type II integral membrane protein belonging to the 3-O-sulfotransferases family. It catalyzes the transfer of a sulfo group to an N-unsubstituted glucosamine linked to a 2-O-sulfo iduronic acid unit on heparan sulfate, using 3'-phospho-5'-adenylyl sulfate (PAPS) as a donor. This enzyme is involved in the modification of heparan sulfate, which plays a crucial role in various biological processes, including cell signaling and viral entry. Specifically, HS3ST3B1 generates an enzyme-modified heparan sulfate that acts as a binding receptor for Herpes simplex virus-1 (HSV-1), facilitating its entry into cells. The protein is encoded by the HS3ST3B1 gene located on chromosome 17 and has been associated with diseases such as Herpes simplex and overhydrated hereditary stomatocytosis. |
