| 背景信息 | DEAD-box helicase 49 (DDX49) is a nucleolar RNA helicase with robust ATPase and RNA unwinding activity, significantly higher than related helicases, and is essential for efficient export of poly(A)+ RNA from the nucleus in a splicing-independent manner. DDX49 regulates the steady-state levels of pre-ribosomal RNA by controlling its transcription and stability, thereby influencing both mRNA export and ribosome biogenesis, which together modulate global protein translation. It is predominantly localized in the nucleolus and nucleoplasm and is predicted to be involved in rRNA processing and nucleic acid binding. Functionally, DDX49 promotes cell proliferation and colony formation, and its expression is elevated in various cancer types, suggesting a role in oncogenic transformation when dysregulated. Its overexpression is associated with cancer. |
