| 背景信息 |
Small glutamine rich tetratricopeptide repeat co-chaperone alpha (SGTA) is a ubiquitously expressed co-chaperone that plays a central role in cytosolic protein quality control. It is characterized by an N-terminal dimerization domain and a central array of three tetratricopeptide repeat (TPR) motifs that form a binding groove for hydrophobic or misfolded client proteins. In coordination with the BAG6/UBL4A/GET4 complex and HSP70 family chaperones, SGTA facilitates the proper targeting of these clients to the endoplasmic reticulum or their diversion to degradation pathways. Beyond its role in proteostasis, SGTA modulates steroid and growth hormone receptor signaling and participates in diverse cellular processes, including cell division, apoptosis, and intracellular trafficking. |
