| 背景信息 | Transcription regulator protein BACH1 (BACH1) is a member of the Cap 'n' Collar and basic region leucine zipper (CNC-bZIP) family of transcription factors. It contains a Broad-complex, Tramtrack, and Bric-à-brac (BTB) domain, six cysteine-proline (CP) motifs, and a basic leucine zipper (bZIP) domain, which enable it to bind DNA and form heterodimers with small Maf proteins[1][2]. BACH1 primarily functions as a transcriptional repressor, regulating the expression of genes involved in oxidative stress response, heme homeostasis, cell cycle, and immunity. Dysregulation of BACH1 has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, where it can promote tumor progression and metastasis by altering the expression of genes related to angiogenesis, epithelial-mesenchymal transition, and stemness. Additionally, BACH1 has been linked to neurodegenerative disorders and autoimmune diseases. |
