| 背景信息 | C-C motif chemokine ligand 16 (CCL16) is a member of the CC chemokine family, characterized by two adjacent cysteines and a canonical chemokine domain. CCL16 is a highly basic, secreted protein primarily synthesized by hepatocytes and circulates in the blood as a full-length protein, with little response to inflammatory mediators. It exhibits chemotactic activity for lymphocytes and monocytes but not neutrophils, and also displays potent myelosuppressive effects by suppressing proliferation of myeloid progenitor cells. The C-terminal extension may modulate its biological activity by limiting glycosaminoglycan binding site accessibility. Disease associations include inhibition of liver cirrhosis progression via inactivation of hepatic stellate cells and maintenance of stem cell-like properties in certain contexts. |
