| 背景信息 | Bcl-2-like protein 11 (BCL2L11), also known as BIM, is a pro-apoptotic member of the BCL-2 protein family. It contains a BH3 domain and interacts with other BCL-2 family proteins to promote apoptosis. BCL2L11 exists in multiple isoforms, with BimL and BimS being more potent inducers of cell death than BimEL. The protein is regulated at transcriptional, translational, and post-translational levels, playing crucial roles in immune responses and tissue homeostasis. BCL2L11 is involved in various cellular processes, including anoikis and autophagy regulation. Dysregulation of BCL2L11 has been implicated in several diseases, including cancer and autoimmune disorders. In cancer, suppression of BCL2L11 expression can contribute to tumor progression and metastasis. Additionally, genetic variants in BCL2L11 have been associated with an increased risk of developing ulcerative forms of Buruli ulcer, a mycobacterial skin infection. |
