| 背景信息 | Cell division cycle 20B (CDC20B) is a vertebrate-specific regulatory protein that is essential for the initiation of ciliogenesis in multiciliated cells. It localizes to the deuterosome, where it controls the disengagement of centrioles from the deuterosome structure. CDC20B is predicted to function as an activator of the anaphase-promoting complex (APC) and interacts with PLK1 and Separase to promote the release of mature centrioles, a prerequisite for basal body formation. The CDC20B gene also hosts the miR-449 cluster, which coordinates cell cycle exit with multiciliated cell differentiation. Clinically, mutations in CDC20B are associated with primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD), a motile ciliopathy characterized by impaired mucociliary clearance and chronic respiratory disease, underscoring its fundamental role in the assembly of functional cilia. |
