| 背景信息 | FXYD domain-containing ion transport regulator 5 (FXYD5), also known as dysadherin, is a single-span type I membrane protein that plays a significant role in regulating ion transport by interacting with the Na+/K+-ATPase. It features a unique structure with a large extracellular domain exceeding 140 amino acids and a short intracellular C-terminal segment, which is critical for its localization and function. FXYD5 modulates cellular junctions, influences cell adhesion, and impacts chemokine production, thereby affecting various physiological processes. Importantly, FXYD5 is often overexpressed in several cancers, including breast and ovarian cancers, where it correlates with tumor progression and metastasis. Its upregulation has been associated with poor prognosis and shorter survival rates in patients with high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC). |
