| 背景信息 | F-box protein 34 (FBXO34) is a substrate-recognition subunit of the SCF (SKP1-CUL1-F-box) E3 ubiquitin ligase complex. It utilizes its F-box domain to interact with SKP1, facilitating the recruitment of specific target proteins for ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation. FBXO34 is involved in several diverse biological processes, including the post-transcriptional modulation of latent HIV-1 activation and the regulation of oocyte maturation. While many of its specific substrates remain to be fully characterized, the protein is known to play a role in viral latency and cellular development. It is located on human chromosome 14 and contains various protein-protein interaction domains that allow it to function within the broader ubiquitin-proteasome system. Its activity is considered context-dependent, contributing to the fine-tuning of protein levels necessary for maintaining cellular homeostasis. |
